Sandisk is looking for a Senior Manager of Industrial Design to lead a global industrial design team focused on creating world‑class consumer storage products. This role is ideal for an experienced design leader who is passionate about elevating brand identity, creating delightful experiences, and enabling seamless execution from concept to mass production. You will champion design excellence across the entire Sandisk consumer portfolio, partner closely with cross‑functional teams, and help strengthen Sandisk’s leadership in consumer technology design and user experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of industrial designers across multiple sites. Inspire and enable the team to continue elevating their craft. Drive industrial design direction across a range of product categories, including portable & desktop SSDs, USB drives, memory cards, readers, and accessories. Oversee the end‑to‑end creative process: project planning, insights gathering, concept development, design refinement, and production readiness. Ensure industrial design is cohesive with the overall Sandisk brand through collaboration with Visual Identity and other creative teams. Partner with product management team to drive product innovation to translate new technologies into innovative user experiences. Collaborate with insights and product marketing leadership to evaluate and develop solutions for specific user segments and use cases. Support the team in maintaining design integrity through all phases of development, including DFM, tooling, and production builds. Drive continuous improvement in team output by identifying new tools, processes, resources, and training. Coordinate team logistics, such as budget and oversight of vendors and contractors.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or equivalent. Must have 10-15+ years of industrial design experience in high-volume consumer products with 5+ years of people leadership experience. Expert-level skills in digital tools such as 3D CAD (SolidWorks), 3D renderings (Keyshot), Adobe Creative Suite, and MSFT Office. Ability to guide designers, extended team members, and stakeholders through the end-to-end industrial design process. Exceptional verbal, visual, and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences. Ability to facilitate solutions to complex problems with engineering, operations, and supplier teams. Ability to lead a team on large number of projects while ensuring design and business goals are met. Demonstrate qualifications with a portfolio of leadership and hands-on design across a wide range of high-volume consumer products.
