We are looking for experienced Associate Cost Managers to support our exciting growth plans, working with our key infrastructure clients in the South West, particularly in the water and environment sectors, supporting the successful delivery of their capital projects and programmes of work. You will be joining an established team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions. Based out of either Bristol, Cardiff, Plymouth or Exeter, as a Associate Cost Manager within our Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, you will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value driven service for large, high profile and exciting key clients within the water sector, such as Anglian Water and the Environment Agency. The role may also present opportunities to work across highways, rail and power sectors, delivering projects for clients such as Highways England, Network Rail and National Grid. The role will cover all aspects of cost management throughout the whole project lifecycle from initial inception / business case through to completion / commissioning. The role also provides the opportunity to support the growth of the business and management/development of team members. Here’s what you’ll do: Lead and deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion, working with peers and Directors, client and others as required; Including (but not limited to) feasibility estimates, cost planning (presenting with no supervision), contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, fee generation, risk management, dispute resolution, post contract management (competent in cost reporting), agreement of final accounts. Achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company. Drive performance standards and technical excellence through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process and AECOM technical practice networks. Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry. Actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on technically complex projects. Develop marketing opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department, in order that they may assist in following up potential leads enabling the development of new business. Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for; Academic Qualification – ideally /Quantity Surveying Degree/ Project Management/ Construction/Engineering Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution Skills/experience Significant and proven experience with a strong track record in the Cost Management/Quantity Surveying field, ideally working on large scale infrastructure projects. Good working knowledge of NEC4 suite of contracts, particularly the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Experience of undertaking cost/commercial management as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams Experience of working within a client organization, either directly or through a colocation/secondment arrangement would be of benefit. Ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders, building effective relationships to grow workload/portfolio
