As a Senior Design Engineer in our Design Engineering team, you will work collaboratively with Design Engineers on new and improved designs for Target supply chain operations. This role combines technical expertise with data-driven decision making to optimize our distribution and logistics facilities.
You will support the Design Engineering team with data-related activities including data mining, organizing, cleansing, and reporting. You will develop 3D visualization of layout, equipment, processes, and material flow within a facility for virtual proof-of-concepts. You will identify internal databases, extract relevant data, and present data in the appropriate format for usage by team members.
You will develop and maintain the department's data repository site for effective storage and retrieval of data and 2D/3D files. You will validate performance of material flow systems using advanced computer-aided technologies such as discrete-event simulation and material flow analysis. You will document, interpret, and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
The salary range for this position is $145,205.00 - $158,000.00 per year.
You will employ material flow design criteria and facility layout design principles, model flow of materials to test throughput and identify any process flow bottlenecks, and develop technical Request for Proposal (RFP), tabulate and qualify proposals, and make technical recommendations on award. You will maintain and promote all industry and regulatory safety requirements and procedures.
