Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our Real Estate team in Bogotá, Colombia. This senior role offers an exciting opportunity to lead cost management activities on complex construction projects while driving value creation and cost excellence for our clients.
Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports to support strategic project decisions. Review construction plans and prepare quantity take-offs, along with Contract Preparation and Management. Prepare and review detailed estimates and cost plans while managing estimating and cost planning activities including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
Value Management: Apply Value Management techniques at the outset of projects and where appropriate involve Turner & Townsend's specialist Value Management team. Manage the procurement process, implementing procurement and contracting strategies, and participate in negotiations ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, bid evaluations, cost negotiations, selection, and contract preparation are performed effectively.
Cost Control & Reporting: Ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively, documenting any changes in design and updating budgets. Ensure that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively. Prepare and issue monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
Value Engineering & Stakeholder Management: Drive value engineering and life cycle costing, offering cost insights to support business decisions. Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders, taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages, and report to senior leadership on current estimated cost vs. budget.
Requirements: Proven experience in cost management within real estate or construction projects with increasing responsibility. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Knowledge of procurement and contracting strategies.
