Sika is seeking a Senior Chemist to join our team in Canton, MA. This role involves developing new products and providing technical support to production plants and customers. The position requires managing assigned projects independently from Idea Proposal through Product Release.
You will independently develop new products according to customer specifications, develop DOE and Design FMEA for product development, and participate in 3-year or long-term product/technology planning. Responsibilities include defining product QA requirements, transferring new products/technologies to Processing, performing initial material testing, and gaining customer approvals. You'll provide technical support to manufacturing plants, support QS 9000/PCP/PSP processes, and maintain accurate laboratory records. The role includes publishing research proposals, field trial proposals, product releases, and progress reports. You'll visit customer sites to provide technical solutions and attend presentations from raw material suppliers.
Requires 5+ years with BS or MS degree, or 2+ years with PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering. Hands-on industrial experience in polymer chemistry or thermoplastic polymer-based formulation is essential. Strong presentation skills and excellent technical and communication abilities are required.
