The Operational Excellence Engineer provides functional expertise in Logistics operations supporting inbound warehousing, transportation, and finished goods distribution for Global Logistics. You will help grow our continuous improvement program using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and propose deployment of market-leading warehouse operations.
This role supports both internally operated distribution centers and 3PL warehouse providers. Responsibilities include SAP WMS process setup, warehouse layout studies, and process development to drive warehousing labor efficiency, improve operational metrics, and eliminate non-value-added work.
Resolve bottlenecks and operational problems preventing timely and efficient handling of inbound and outbound orders, including purchase order receipts and fulfillment of interplant stock transport orders. Conduct studies to investigate and establish root cause of compliance, quality, or performance failures and implement corrective actions.
Benchmark and leverage lean-oriented tools such as 5S and Six Sigma to eliminate waste and error-proof transitional work. Help formalize CI programs and provide cross-logistics training in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Manage implementation of projects meeting operational improvement goals including throughput, transaction accuracy, process controls, ergonomics, and layout initiatives.
