Your New Role Strategy and Planning Responsible for the overall performance of the QBE Mortgage Insurance (MI) Asia platform Ensure the Asia Operation continues to make a positive contribution to QBE MI as well as the QBE Group Ensure strategic business initiatives as mandated by QBE MI Asia’s Board of Directors are properly communicated to, and carried out by, the QBE HK team Drive business performance through effective planning, control and support mechanisms to ensure delivery of the business plan Contribute to the development of and have accountability for the delivery of the MI HK strategic direction Develop and deliver an effective MI model for all financial objectives Policy, Process and Procedures Ensure the Asia operations fully comply with all corporate governance and regulatory requirements Maintain a robust framework of financial controls to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and principles of sound financial management Oversee the continuous improvement of services delivered to the business/clients to ensure the function continues to develop and best support business objectives Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus Responsible for the delivery of effective and efficient provision of customer service for QBE MI HK Develop additional business opportunities in other countries in the region Ensure the effective promotion and defence of QBE MI’s reputation internally and externally Develop and maintain relationships with local and foreign regulators Create and sustain a cultural environment in which high performance and appropriate reward is considered to be the acceptable norm Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets the expectation of key business stakeholders Manage strategic partnerships that enable MI HK to have a positive influence on the competitive advantage and profitability of the global MI business Communicate updates to and changes in the MI HK strategy to stakeholders Develop and foster a service orientated culture within MI HK through a business relationship operating model Technical Performance Submit business forecasts and budgets, and recommend major policy changes and developments Monitor and direct overall operations to achieve revenue and expense budgets and the satisfactory performance Negotiate major deals and financial arrangements People Management Develop and drive cultural improvement within the MI HK team Attract, develop and retain a high-quality workforce with the knowledge and skills to deliver excellent MI outcomes and service Lead a workforce to be in line with the future direction of MI, implement a workforce plan that meets current Global, Asian & ANZO requirements and future business plans About You Leading edge knowledge of mortgage insurance industry of Hong Kong is a MUST Relevant experience in all aspects of general management at a senior level including functional areas Relevant tertiary qualifications and management training Strong leadership and motivational ability Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance licensing requirements Ability to lead strategic change Ability to lead and inspire people at operational and strategic levels Substantial experience in managing a complex, regulated business Benefits We offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances.
