As a Component Developer at H&M, you will identify and develop local markets for our sourcing missions. This role requires close collaboration with T1/T2 suppliers to drive material and component development while leading price negotiations to secure the best options in terms of quality, price, and lead-time aligned with our product strategies and customer expectations.
You will maintain our digital and physical library of materials and components, capturing updates and innovations in the field. Your role involves interpreting trends and concepts into material and component trends, then communicating these clearly to suppliers and stakeholders. You'll work with suppliers to understand local capabilities on materials and components, educating and developing them to leverage local strengths while minimizing risks.
In line with our product strategies, you will identify and develop local markets for product sourcing. You'll drive material and component development, securing the best options for quality, price, and lead-time. Maintaining and updating our digital and physical material libraries is essential, as is interpreting trends into actionable component strategies. You'll educate and develop suppliers while gaining clear understanding of local capabilities to minimize risks.
To succeed as a Component Developer, you must have technical knowledge and experience in material and component development, including pricing, lead times, and quality standards. You should have a strong understanding of material and component sourcing, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to interpret fashion trends into technical requirements.
