The Sustainability Data & Energy Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing, forecasting, and optimizing the company’s energy usage, utility spend, and sustainability performance. This position leads complex data modeling, energy performance analysis, and reporting initiatives that support cost reduction, operational efficiency, carbon reduction strategies, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical analytics skills with deep knowledge of energy systems, utility data, emissions accounting and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues, from facilities technicians to senior leaders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Energy & Utility Data Analytics Collect, clean, and analyze utility and resource consumption data across facilities, assets, and operations. Resources to include, at a minimum, fuels, gases, chemicals, water, waste and energy. Develop dashboards, performance indicators, and analytics tools to monitor energy and resource consumption, trends, anomalies, and savings opportunities. Conduct variance analysis, cost modeling, and root‑cause investigations of energy performance deviations. Identify and quantify energy efficiency opportunities, load optimization strategies, and cost‑saving programs. Develop and deliver effective data-related trainings to ensure high fidelity incoming data. Conduct spot checks and check-ins with employees across global sites to confirm uptake and understanding. 2. Forecasting & Modeling Build and support modelling for Scopes 1, 2, 3, water and waste goals, configure models to ensure dynamic conditions are incorporated, assumptions documented, and risks to performance are evident and monitored. Build and maintain forecasting models for Scopes 1, 2, 3 and water, and waste. Build and maintain energy forecasting models for electricity, fuel, thermal energy, and peak demand, incorporating traditional and clean energy sources. Support financial planning with energy budget models, scenario analysis, and rate/tariff evaluations. Evaluate the financial and operational impacts of energy price fluctuations, weather patterns, utility programs, and operational changes. 3. Sustainability & Emissions Accounting Manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculation across Scopes 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories. Prepare energy, emissions, and resource consumption data for corporate sustainability reporting (e.g., CDP, GRI, TCFD, ISSB, CSRD). Analyze the energy and emissions impacts of operational initiatives, equipment upgrades, and renewable energy projects. Develop standardized tools to direct site-level environmental accounting and reporting; whether SaaS, homegrown, or hybrid tools 4. Third-party Assurance and Audit Support Prepare audit‑ready datasets, documentation, evidence, and data dictionaries for energy and GHG emissions assurance reviews. Serve as a key liaison between external auditors/assurance providers and internal teams. Support walkthroughs, sampling, and testing procedures by providing source data, calculations, and methodological explanations. Maintain traceable audit trails, version control, and documentation to meet assurance requirements (limited or reasonable assurance). Implement auditor feedback to strengthen internal controls and improve future assurance readiness. Assist in annual internal reviews of data processes, methodologies, and system controls to reduce audit findings and risks. 5. Energy Systems & Operations Support Partner with operations, facilities, engineering, and procurement to improve energy performance and optimize systems. Analyze performance of HVAC, lighting, manufacturing equipment, motors/drives, and building automation systems at a global level. Support site teams as appropriate. Support the assessment and validation of energy conservation measures and capital projects. Evaluate clean energy and onsite generation opportunities (solar, storage, microgrids, fuel switching, etc.). Partner with site facility teams to explore and evaluate opportunities in-country/region. 6. Data Engineering & Digital Tools Develop and maintain data pipelines, automation scripts, and analytics models using SQL, Python, BI tools. Manage energy data systems and platforms (e.g., Power BI/Tableau). Understand, support, and implement data governance improvements, quality control processes, and documentation standards. With Data Governance manager, conduct periodic reviews of governance model effectiveness and efficiency. Drive in-house automation initiatives across Manufacturing EPU, including data workflows, crew operations, and EHS monitoring systems. Collaborate with the Data Automation Team to design and deploy digital tools that streamline operational reporting, automate manual data collection, and improve real-time visibility of manufacturing performance. Support automation pathways for renewable energy and Carbon-Free Energy (CFE) allocation based on customer demand, enabling efficient energy utiliz
