We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Estimator and CAD Specialist to join our growing organization in Ashland, Virginia. This full-time, direct hire, onsite position offers a competitive salary up to $100,000 annually based on experience, with performance-based raises and bonus opportunities.
This role combines estimating responsibilities with hands-on CAD and modeling work, making it an excellent fit for someone who enjoys both analytical and technical design tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-focused, experienced in structural steel projects, and capable of managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
You will develop comprehensive cost estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labor, manpower, scheduling, and margin considerations. The role involves reviewing and interpreting structural drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings to determine project scope and requirements. You will perform CAD drafting and 3D modeling to support project design and planning efforts while collaborating with internal teams to align estimating data with project execution plans. Maintaining organized and accurate documentation throughout the estimating lifecycle is essential. The position may include occasional local site visits as needed, with a company vehicle provided.
5-7+ years of experience in structural steel estimating is required. Proficiency with CAD software and 3D modeling tools is necessary. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including 1-hour lunch break.
