The Sterilizing Technician I at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is an essential team member responsible for receiving, cleaning, distributing, and storing medical instruments and equipment. This full-time evening position ensures all medical instruments meet the highest standards of sterilization and safety.
You will clean, disinfect, decontaminate, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods, substances, and equipment. Your work directly impacts patient safety and infection prevention throughout the organization.
Receive, stock, package, and distribute medical instruments and equipment efficiently. You'll perform and document required quality assurance testing and inspection on stock, maintaining accurate records of all sterilization processes.
Inventory and reorder supplies to ensure adequate stock levels. Properly dispose of biohazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and unusable equipment and supplies in accordance with safety regulations.
Your attention to detail and commitment to quality ensures all instruments are properly processed and ready for patient care. You'll follow established protocols and maintain documentation of all quality control measures.
