Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Staff Radiographer to join our team in Chicago, IL. This full-time day shift position offers a sign-on bonus and the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging technology in a collaborative healthcare environment.
The Staff Radiographer performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to generate critical information necessary for patient diagnosis and treatment. You will assess and evaluate physician orders for radiological examinations according to departmental procedures, carefully evaluating requests and assessing patients to determine appropriate imaging protocols. A key aspect of this role involves advising patients on radiation safety matters and educating them about the examinations being performed, while reducing patient anxiety and providing comfort throughout procedures. You will position patients accurately and perform diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing appropriate equipment, caring for patients according to department and hospital standards of nursing care, age-specific guidelines, and Patients First policies. The position requires completing and maintaining comprehensive medical records for patients and performing electronic quality analysis of radiographic images to ensure diagnostic accuracy. Additional functions include adhering to research protocols, maintaining records for research data, and promptly reporting any incidents of equipment failure or irregularities to ensure patient safety and operational efficiency.
