As a Senior Accountant at H&M Group, you will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive financial accounting routines including external audit and statutory financial reporting. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract position based in Sydney, NSW.
You will initiate and review General Ledger bookings including rent, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations. The role involves managing employee reimbursement claims and payments with FBT requirements, handling bank and cash flow routines, and managing intercompany loans. You will liaise with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable centralized offshore teams, lead annual stock take from the accounting function, and conduct monthly stock take routines.
You will apply accounting standards and prepare accounting treatment papers to a high standard, including carrying out IFRS16 lease accounting routines. The position also involves assisting with tax compliance tasks and supporting the Accounting Manager with ad hoc reconciliations and reporting tasks.
You will be one of 2 Senior Accountants in the local team, reporting to the Accounting Manager for AUNZ who holds a dual role as Regional Accounting Manager for APAC. You will work closely with the Country Controller and collaborate cross-functionally with team members across all departments.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, experience with statutory reporting, and the ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities with store teams and other functions such as IT and Security.
