Northwestern Medicine seeks a dedicated Security Officer I to join our Security team. This full-time night shift position is responsible for adhering to established policies and procedures to protect the hospital from theft and damage while providing protection for patients, visitors, associates, and medical staff.
Investigate and quell hospital incidents and disturbances to maintain security for patients, visitors, and employees. Complete descriptive reports for supervisory personnel and notify appropriate city officials including police and fire departments when necessary. Prepare detailed incident reports for leadership review.
Perform regular perimeter and internal patrols of hospital buildings and grounds to assure protection of patients and property and prevent unauthorized entry. These patrols are conducted both on foot and via mobile patrol. Monitor access control systems, fire and duress alarms, and security video systems continuously.
Conduct investigations into hazardous conditions, reported theft, criminal activity, and security or safety issues. Control traffic as necessary to assure access for emergency vehicles. Restrain patients upon proper direction from medical/clinical staff when required.
Security experience preferred. Ability to handle emergency situations and maintain composure under pressure essential.
