The Sales Manager at North Point Volvo, part of Sonic Automotive, plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the dealership meets its unit sales quotas and gross profit objectives on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. This position requires strategic planning, team coordination, and performance management to drive retail and fleet unit sales that contribute to the dealership's overall profitability.
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for making monthly projections of vehicle requirements for the immediate 90-day sales period. You will develop comprehensive forecasts for unit sales, gross profit objectives, and departmental profits on both monthly and yearly bases. A significant portion of your role involves conducting individual forecasting sessions with each salesperson to establish clear objectives including customer volume targets, closing percentages by category, time utilization metrics, prospecting efforts, unit sales goals, and projected income expectations.
You will meet with each salesperson daily to review previous day's results and plan actionable strategies for the current day. Leading sales meetings, facilitating pre-delivery coordination with the Service Manager, and providing on-the-job training for sales team members are essential duties. Additionally, you will recommend procedures to the Dealer for advertising strategies, sales promotions, staffing requirements, lease promotions, compensation structures, customer complaint resolution processes, and salesperson evaluation methodologies.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, excellent analytical skills for forecasting and planning, and proven experience in automotive sales management. You should possess exceptional communication skills for conducting effective sales meetings and training sessions. The ability to build strong working relationships with both team members and dealership leadership is crucial for success in this role.
