This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week located at the Lake Forest Outpatient Rehab Clinic. The Rehabilitation Patient Access Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Perform department-based reception and clerical functions. Act as receptionist for the department, greeting staff and customers politely and referring to appropriate staff when needed. Answer department telephone calls professionally and communicate messages clearly to all staff members. Maintain customer orientation and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and department customers. Successfully complete special projects as needed. Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize and complete work quickly as department needs change. Coordinate all clerical work with senior/clinical coordinator/manager/director. Coordinate invoice and purchase request processing. Maintain appropriate supply levels. Independently manage the Department Appointment Report in EPIC. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
