Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our IV Therapy team in Palos Heights, IL. This full-time day shift position (7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) requires work every other weekend and alternating holidays. Vascular access experience is strongly preferred for this specialized role.
The Staff Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory/accreditation standards. As a registered professional nurse, you will assume accountability and responsibility for individualized, age-specific care of patients along the continuum from admission to discharge. You will provide direct care to assigned patients and assist with other patient care when necessary. The registered professional nurse's decisions and actions on behalf of patients and families are determined in an ethical manner. You will collect and analyze assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses, collaborate with patients/families and other healthcare team members, develop plans of care to attain realistic outcomes, provide education founded on evidence-based practice, and systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Key duties include assessing and recording patient status, identifying changes in condition, and implementing appropriate interventions.
At this time, Palos Hospital is not considering external ADN candidates for RN openings; however, internal employee ADN candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical skills in vascular access and IV therapy, excellent communication abilities, and commitment to patient-centered care.
