Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to work in our outpatient psychiatry clinic. This position offers the opportunity to assess and diagnose patients with psychiatric disorders while developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans.
The PMHNP will assess and diagnose patients with psychiatric disorders and provide treatment plans that may include initiation and continuation of psychotropic medications, referral to social services, and transition to higher levels of care when needed. Expect approximately 16 to 20 patients per day depending on new evaluations versus follow-up appointments.
Monday through Friday, days only - no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements. This schedule provides excellent work-life balance while allowing you to focus on patient care excellence.
Demonstrate clinical expertise through patient care activities including diagnosis and management of psychiatric conditions. Confers with collaborating physicians and health professionals, develops educational systems for patients and families, and mentors graduate students. Actively participate in quality improvement and research pertinent to psychiatric care.
Active PMHNP license required. Outpatient psychiatry experience preferred.
