Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Procedure Technician for our GI Endoscopy department in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to support nurses, physicians, and healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care in a specialized procedural environment.
Role Overview: The Procedure Technician provides essential support services related to daily department operations, facilitating patient flow to and from waiting areas and exam/procedural areas. This position reflects Northwestern Medicine's mission, vision, and values while adhering to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program.
Procedure Support: Duties include setup work of exam/procedure rooms before patient arrival, assisting nurses in timely room turnover between procedures, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and ordering and restocking supplies. Your contributions ensure smooth, efficient procedural operations.
Patient Care: You will care for patients throughout treatment/procedures according to department and hospital standards, demonstrating age-specific sensitivity and our Patients First guidelines. This includes preparing procedure rooms, assisting with patient preparation, and participating in patient lifting and escorting throughout the department.
Clinical Assistance: The role involves assisting physicians and nurses during procedures as necessary, including specimen collection, preparing paperwork and information for treatments, and assisting in patient discharge as needed. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient comfort are essential for optimal procedural outcomes.
