Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery department. The APP will have daily OR cases at LFH and Grayslake Campus; admit and discharge orders; independent clinic visits and procedures; patient support/management via In-basket and phone.
This position is approximately 80% inpatient in OR and 20% outpatient in clinic. Locations include Lake Forest Hospital and Grayslake campus. Schedule: M-F, days, with rotating on-call split between other APPs - no nights/weekends/holidays.
Demonstrate clinical expertise through patient care activities including diagnosis and management of health problems. Responsible for health outcomes of assigned patient population. Confer with collaborating physicians and health professionals. Develop educational systems for patients, families and staff. Mentor graduate students. Actively participate in quality improvement and/or research.
Conduct comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status through histories and physical examinations. Provide direct clinical care. Prescribe/order medications, therapies, laboratory tests, x-rays and procedures according to clinical privileges. Evaluate patients for further health care needs.
