Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III for our Operating Room Pharmacies in a PRN capacity. This casual rotating position works a minimum of 12 shifts annually with weekend/weekday combinations, supporting daily pharmacy operations under the direction of registered pharmacists.
The Pharmacy Technician III performs all technical duties associated with daily dispensing area operations. You will prepare medication orders for inpatients and prescriptions for outpatients, handle unit dose and sterile product functions, and perform manufacturing procedures documented in department records. The role includes picking up and delivering medications to nursing units, scheduling intravenous admixture solutions, and managing computerized patient medication profiles.
We seek a dedicated professional who reflects Northwestern Memorial's mission, vision, and values while adhering to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills for telephone screening, and the ability to determine when calls require pharmacist intervention. You must be proficient in entering drug orders and renewal information into computer systems.
This casual position requires availability for rotating shifts including weekends. Holiday commitment includes one summer or one winter holiday per year.
