Northwestern Medicine Healthcare seeks a dedicated Patient Access Specialist for our Hospital Operator Services team. This night shift position (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) requires working every other weekend on a rotating holiday schedule.
You will consistently practice the Patients First philosophy, adhering to high standards of customer service while fostering a team atmosphere. The role involves responding to questions and concerns, forwarding extraordinary issues to Team Lead or Operations Coordinator, and maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, establishing a positive first impression of Northwestern Medicine. You will exceed consumer requests, alert management of issues requiring escalation, and correctly identify and collect patient demographic information in accordance with organizational standards.
Interact with various hospital departments and physician offices to effectively schedule and direct patients through NMHC systems. Reach out to patients to schedule appointments and perform medical necessity checks for scheduled services, communicating options to patients when applicable.
Customer service experience, HIPAA knowledge, and excellent communication skills required. Healthcare experience preferred.
