Title: Packaging Engineer

Salary: Up to $75,000 (Depending on Experience)
About the Role
The Packaging Engineer will manage projects related to packaging component design, qualification, and process improvements. This role involves contributing to projects across all stages, including scope definition, feasibility, design, simulation, cost/benefit analyses, project planning, implementation, and post-implementation follow-up. You will work on cross-functional projects, lead smaller project teams, and ensure that all work meets business, quality, and regulatory compliance objectives.
Core Responsibilities
Analyze current packaging operations to identify opportunities for improved quality, efficiency, compliance, and cost savings Introduce and implement new materials, technologies, or methods within existing packaging systems Update and refine processes to align with regulatory standards or accommodate new components Define project objectives and assess multiple solution pathways Develop actionable project plans, timelines, and priorities Lead execution of smaller projects or key segments of larger initiatives Investigate process issues and implement both immediate fixes and sustainable long-term solutions Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and resolve operational challenges Ensure all activities adhere to cGMP requirements and applicable regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related discipline 4–6 years of experience in areas such as operations, quality, regulatory, procurement, or product development within pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar regulated manufacturing environments Skills & Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, and packaging-related compliance standards Experience with packaging component qualification and material selection Demonstrated problem-solving and project management capabilities Ability to work effectively across teams and manage multiple priorities
