Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our ambulatory Sexual Health Medicine and Menopause department. The Advanced Practice Provider will see new and return menopause patients in the clinic while supporting the MD clinic when needed. This position is entirely outpatient.
Monday through Friday, days. Will participate in home call approximately one week per month with no nights, weekends, or holidays.
Demonstrate clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities including diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems. Responsible for health outcomes of an assigned patient population. Confer with collaborating physicians and other health professionals in your area of expertise. Develop appropriate educational systems for patients, families, and staff. Mentor graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care. Actively participate in quality improvement and research pertinent to your area of expertise.
Conduct comprehensive health status appraisals through health histories and physical examinations. Provide direct clinical care to patients. Prescribe medications, therapies, laboratory tests, x-rays, and procedures according to clinical privileges. Evaluate patients to determine their need for further healthcare. Provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
