Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our Gynecologic Oncology department. The APP will be doing in-patient rounding, overseeing patients being discharged, overseeing orders, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This position is all inpatient. Schedule: 3x12-hr days, with 4-hrs admin time; days TBD, but most likely Mon, Tues, Fri - no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call.
Demonstrate clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems. Responsible for health outcomes of an assigned patient population. Confer with collaborating physicians and other health professionals. Develop appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff. Mentor graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care. Actively participate in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.
Conduct comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations. Provide direct clinical care. Prescribe/order medications, therapies, laboratory tests, x-rays and procedures according to clinical privileges. Evaluate patients to determine need for further health care.
