The Nurse Clinician at Developmental Therapeutics works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive patient care based on disease type. This position demands exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and specialized competence in oncology nursing. The role uniquely combines clinical practice with navigation, care coordination, and research compliance within phase 1/2 clinical trial protocols.
As a Nurse Clinician, you will work cooperatively and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary framework to promote holistic care for patients and their families. You will demonstrate self-direction and initiative in your roles as nurse clinician, educator, and consultant. The position involves providing direct patient care and consultation utilizing in-depth clinical knowledge and specialized skills in oncology. You will actively participate in care coordination, ensuring seamless transitions between different aspects of patient treatment while maintaining compliance with clinical trial research protocols.
Candidates must hold an active professional nursing license in the state of Illinois and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support at the healthcare provider level. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited Nursing program is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience in a specific clinical area. Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills are essential for teaching and leadership responsibilities. The role requires physical capability to lift or carry objects weighing 35-40 lbs, and to lift and position patients, some of whom may exceed 300 lbs. Visual acuity for checking documents, keyboard data entry, and close examination of specimens and images is necessary. The ideal candidate interacts effectively and collaborates successfully with others even in challenging situations.
