Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking an experienced Nurse Clinician to join our Dermatology department in Chicago, IL. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary healthcare environment where you will make a meaningful impact on patient care outcomes.
The Nurse Clinician will perform comprehensive patient assessments via phone or in-person consultations, utilizing advanced nursing skills to implement appropriate interventions. You will be responsible for initiating and organizing patient education programs tailored to the dermatology patient population. The role requires maintaining a safe and clean work environment while ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations. You will assume responsibility for the supervision and appropriate care of medical equipment, and provide pre-attending care for patients. For each patient, you will conduct thorough assessments of chief complaints and patient needs using the nursing process, seeking solutions and offering informed opinions to physicians and healthcare providers. All nursing assessments must be documented clearly, completely, and legibly in the patient's medical record while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
Candidates must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, and clinical/administrative units. The ideal candidate will exhibit appropriate judgment, independent thinking, and creativity when resolving patient care issues. Understanding and upholding protocols for release of patient/medical information is essential.
