Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital’s policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct. *Under direct supervision, performs a variety of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures on patients using high-field strength magnets and related equipment. Performs MRI imaging sequences necessary to reach a medical diagnosis and decision. *Performs routine/non-complex MRI procedures related to neuro imaging (brain/neck/spine), body imaging (chest/abdomen/pelvis), and musculoskeletal imaging (upper/lower extremities). *Prepares patients for MRI exam: explains the procedure, ensures that patient screening form is properly completed, safely transfers patient to MRI equipment, properly positions patient and assists patient on completion of the exam; completes exams in the required timeframe. *Troubleshoots equipment problems and when necessary reports to the proper personnel for repair. *Utilizes ancillary equipment appropriately: PACS system, laser camera, MedRad power injector, IDXRad, and Invivo monitor. *Uses appropriate techniques and equipment for accurate diagnosis, as instructed by department leaders and radiologists. *Ensures consistent and reliable imaging results. *Verifies images meet required diagnostic standards. *Explains procedures, verifies forms, transfers patients safely, positions them correctly, and provides any post-exam instructions within specified timeframes. *Reports major problems for repairs. Properly utilizes ancillary equipment like imaging coils and transducers, power injectors, and monitors. *Maintains essential paperwork and records.
