Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Shared Services Bronzeville team in Chicago, IL. This full-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about patient care and committed to supporting a high-performing healthcare team.
The Medical Assistant serves as a vital member of the healthcare team, providing comprehensive support to physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical staff. Your primary focus will be facilitating efficient patient flow throughout the clinic while assisting with various patient care activities and performing related administrative functions. You will escort patients to exam rooms, properly identify them using two identifiers, and prepare them for examination. Obtaining accurate vital signs per organizational standards is a core responsibility, as is documenting the reason for visit and updating or confirming allergies, smoking history, and pharmacy information. You must promptly inform providers and registered nurses of any significant changes in vital signs or acute symptoms. The role requires anticipating and setting up necessary equipment or supplies for visits, cleaning and preparing exam rooms between patients, and responding to needs that expedite visits and maintain optimal patient flow.
