The Medical Assistant is an essential member of the healthcare team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare's Pain Clinic. This full-time position primarily focuses on providing comprehensive support to physicians, nurses, and licensed medical staff while ensuring efficient patient care delivery.
You will be responsible for maintaining efficient patient flow through the clinic by escorting patients to exam rooms, preparing them for examination, and obtaining accurate vital signs per organizational standards. You'll document reasons for visits and update patient information including allergies, smoking history, and pharmacy details.
Promptly inform providers and registered nurses of significant changes in vital signs or acute symptoms. You'll anticipate and set up necessary equipment and supplies for each visit, clean and prepare exam rooms for subsequent patients, and respond to needs that expedite visits and maintain optimal patient flow.
Maintain neat, clean, and safe patient care areas while promoting patient satisfaction through professional, friendly interactions. You'll safeguard patient confidentiality and ensure all patient information is handled with the utmost care and discretion.
