Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Dermatology department in Chicago, IL. This full-time position (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday) offers a $2,000 new hire sign-on bonus and requires flexibility with work hours.
As a Medical Assistant, you will be an integral member of the healthcare team, providing essential support to physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical staff. Your role focuses on facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting with various patient care activities, and performing related administrative functions. You will ensure efficient patient flow through the clinic by escorting patients to exam rooms, properly identifying them with two identifiers, and preparing them for examination. Obtaining accurate vital signs per organizational standards is critical, as is documenting the reason for visit and updating or confirming allergies, smoking history, and pharmacy information. You must promptly inform the provider and registered nurse of any significant changes in vital signs or acute symptoms. The position requires anticipating and setting up equipment or supplies needed for visits, cleaning and preparing exam rooms for the next patient, and responding to needs that expedite visits and maintain optimal patient flow.
