Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Cardiology team in Chicago, IL. This full-time day shift position offers an exciting opportunity to provide essential support to physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical staff in a specialized cardiac care setting.
About the Role: The Medical Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. You will be a member of the health care team primarily responsible for providing support to physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical staff.
Key Responsibilities: You will facilitate efficient patient flow, assist with various patient care activities, and perform related administrative functions. Ensuring efficient patient flow through the clinic, maintaining neat and clean patient care areas, and promoting patient satisfaction are essential duties.
Clinical Duties: You will escort patients to exam rooms, identify patients with 2 identifiers, prepare patients for examination, and obtain accurate vital signs per organization standards. Documenting reason for visit, updating allergies and pharmacy information, and promptly informing providers of significant changes are critical responsibilities.
Patient Care: You will anticipate and set up equipment or supplies needed for visits, clean and prepare exam rooms for next patients, and respond to needs to expedite visits while maintaining patient flow and prioritizing tasks effectively.
