NBCUniversal is seeking a Media Traffic Control Manager responsible for the set-up, trafficking, and coordination of transmission facilities for the use of all NBC Universal entities, primarily supporting NBC News programming.
You will book and coordinate satellite, fiber, and IP feeds supporting NBC Network News, Sports and Entertainment, along with streaming services such as NBC News Now and Peacock. The role includes live control room show support with remote trouble-shooting and re-routing prior to or during on-air shows. You will set audio/video levels to spec and verify signal quality of remotes prior to air. Knowledge in booking, coordination, and understanding of streaming technology such as LiveU, Makito, or VideoShip and providers such as LTN, TVU, Videolink EIP is essential. You'll work closely with producers, technical and production managers, and NBC News Assignment Desk regarding booking facilities both internationally and domestically. The role involves close interaction with vendors, field teams, and NBC Bureau teams in remote signal acquisition. Familiarity with scheduling and control systems such as ScheduAll and Dataminer is required. You will procure and assign both vendor and in-house satellite trucks for remote origination and control technical infrastructure including satellite receivers, decoders, router control, and spectrum analyzers.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in media traffic control, broadcast operations, and transmission facility coordination. Strong technical knowledge of satellite, fiber, and IP-based transmission systems is essential.
