Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to support a high-volume manufacturing and packaging facility. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable operation of automated equipment while driving continuous improvements across electrical, PLC, and mechanical systems. Although primarily a first-shift position, flexibility is required to assist across all three shifts as needed.
Role Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and performance of advanced automated manufacturing and packaging equipment. Responsibilities include managing electrical controls, PLC systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical components, and computerized maintenance systems. This role partners closely with production teams and supports scheduling, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot automated filling and packaging systems, including electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components Support PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servomotors, and encoders Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including wiring, relays, breakers, starters, and fuses Manage preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance systems Analyze downtime and OEE metrics; implement process and equipment improvements Ensure equipment remains validated to maintain product quality Manage repair parts inventory and collaborate with maintenance technicians Enforce cGMP, safety, regulatory, and quality standards Maintain organized work areas following 5S principles Ensure proper installation and maintenance of machine guards, interlocks, and safety devices Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and identify hazards Drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, quality, and cost goals Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, HR, Materials, Training, and Production teams Support hiring, training, and development of maintenance personnel
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or related field Strong experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably with supervisory experience Journeyman card or electrical certification preferred Experience managing hourly and exempt teams Background in consumer goods, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing preferred
