The Laboratory Equipment Technician is responsible for routine maintenance, upkeep, and coordination of critical laboratory equipment. This role supports daily testing operations by ensuring instruments are clean, functional, and available for use while working closely with laboratory scientists to minimize disruptions. This is a hands‑on, detail‑oriented position ideal for candidates with prior laboratory or equipment maintenance experience who enjoy supporting scientific teams in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for routine laboratory equipment maintenance. Perform scheduled refilling of incubator water to ensure proper functionality. Coordinate and assist with annual disinfection of incubators and biosafety cabinets. Conduct monthly freezer de‑icing to maintain optimal performance. Coordinate and perform annual freezer defrosts. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff to schedule maintenance around active testing. Maintain organized documentation of maintenance activities. Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs and availability.
No college degree required. High school diploma with 5–7 years of experience or Associate’s degree with 3–5 years of experience in an academic, biotech, or pharmaceutical laboratory environment. Hands‑on experience performing laboratory equipment or instrument maintenance is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
The position is onsite, full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed.
