Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking an Immediate Care Technician for our Immediate Care Center in a casual capacity. This role supports physicians and advanced practice providers by facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting with various patient care activities, and performing related administrative functions.
The Immediate Care Technician ensures efficient patient flow through the site by escorting patients to exam rooms, identifying patients with two identifiers, and preparing them for examination. You will obtain accurate vital signs per organization standards, document reason for visit, and update allergies, smoking history, and pharmacy information. The role includes promptly informing providers of significant changes in vital signs or acute symptoms.
You will anticipate and set up equipment or supplies needed for visits, clean and prepare exam rooms for next patients, and respond to needs that expedite visits and maintain patient flow. The position includes assisting with referrals, transfers, and discharge processes, as well as assisting physicians with medical and surgical procedures in accordance with established protocols.
