Ummh is seeking a dedicated Houseworker to join our Housekeeping team at the University Campus in Worcester, MA. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week on day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, working every other holiday and every other weekend. You will perform standard cleaning procedures in all areas of the hospital and buildings to maintain a clean and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your duties include cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, common areas, operating rooms, and restrooms, disinfecting high-touch surfaces following infection control protocols, removing and disposing of biohazard and regular waste materials, restocking supplies throughout the facility, moving furniture and setting up meeting rooms as necessary, and operating floor care equipment. You will also report maintenance issues and safety concerns to appropriate departments promptly.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably in healthcare settings, is desirable. Strong attention to detail, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout an 8-hour shift are essential. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and infection control practices is preferred. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
This non-exempt position offers a competitive hourly range of $19.00 to $30.34, with final offers based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. A signing bonus may be available - eligibility will be confirmed during the interview process.
