The Head of Development Sciences – China position at AbbVie leads a cross-functional, vertically integrated team of development scientists responsible for managing internal and external relationships to ensure rapid and effective conduct of research activities culminating in accelerated cPOC (clinical Proof of Concept).
This role is accountable for aligning strategic development, fostering partnerships across internal and external stakeholders, optimizing processes for drug development, and steering scientific execution across functional boundaries within China, all in alignment with global objectives.
Provide strategic leadership for the China Development Sciences team, ensuring alignment on scientific vision, research strategy, and operational excellence from early development through cPOC. Lead and integrate a cross-functional team including development scientists, clinical trial supplies, preclinical safety, and quantitative translational ADME sciences to support robust, efficient execution of R&D plans.
Build and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders including internal R&D, commercial, regulatory, manufacturing, and senior leaders, as well as external alliance partners, CROs, government regulatory bodies, and key opinion leaders. Support identification and management of external business development opportunities including strategic partnerships and research collaborations.
