The Group Leader – Analytical Sciences is responsible for leading a team of analysts while maintaining strong technical engagement in analytical method development and protein characterization. This role combines hands-on scientific expertise with people leadership, project oversight, and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support a team of analytical scientists, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and professional growth Plan, assign, and oversee routine assay execution and method development activities Drive the development of novel separation and identification assays Lead separation, characterization, and identification of proteins and antibodies using: HPLC and UPLC cIEF BioA/GX and related analytical techniques Develop and optimize HPLC- and UPLC-based chromatography methods, including: Size exclusion Affinity chromatography Normal-phase Reverse-phase Ion exchange Hydrophobic interaction chromatography Utilize DAD and FLD detectors to support analytical method development and troubleshooting Review data, ensure accuracy and compliance, and support technical problem-solving Partner with management and cross-functional teams to support project timelines, throughput, and continuous improvement initiatives
BS or BA in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience); relevant industry experience may substitute for degree requirements Minimum of 3 years of hands-on HPLC experience , preferably within pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments Demonstrated experience with HPLC and UPLC method development Strong background in protein and antibody separation and characterization Thorough understanding of chromatographic techniques including SEC, affinity, normal-phase, reverse-phase, ion exchange, and HIC Prior leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and lead others in a laboratory setting Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated, adaptable, and positive leadership style Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
