The Finance Manager position at Carson Honda, part of Sonic Automotive, combines sales management responsibilities with specialized finance and insurance expertise. This role ensures the dealership meets unit sales quotas and gross objectives while generating additional revenue through the sale of finance and insurance products to customers.
As Finance Manager, you will make monthly projections of vehicle requirements for the immediate 90-day sales period and determine forecasts for unit sales, gross profit objectives, and departmental profits. A critical aspect of this role involves selling financing options, extended warranties, and all other aftermarket finance and insurance products directly to customers.
You will establish and maintain strong working relationships with multiple finance sources, including factory partners and external lenders. Processing responsibilities include submitting paperwork to finance sources and obtaining approvals on all finance deals, handling rate quotations, and verifying all paperwork for correct title information, lien details, and taxes.
Daily meetings with each salesperson to review previous day's results and plan current day activities are essential. You will conduct sales meetings, facilitate pre-delivery coordination with the Service Manager, and maintain responsibility for logging sales income. Additional duties include verifying insurance with customer agents, obtaining deposits, and verifying trade-in payoffs.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Finance and Insurance Manager in an automotive dealership environment. You should possess strong knowledge of financing options, lending practices, and insurance products. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with meticulous attention to detail for managing complex financial documentation and compliance requirements.
