Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer – Power Systems

Pay: $80,000 – $120,000
Position Overview
We are seeking a driven Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of reliable and high-performance power distribution equipment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to both new product development and ongoing engineering support, while collaborating across multiple teams in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical design at the product level, including component selection, thermal considerations, mechanical packaging support, and interconnection design Apply knowledge of analog/digital circuits, magnetics, and thermal systems Develop technical specifications for power protection and distribution equipment Design switchboard power and control systems Create and maintain engineering documentation such as schematics and bills of materials (BOMs) Support integration of third-party components into electrical systems Assist with manufacturing documentation, testing procedures, and technical reporting Provide ongoing engineering support for both new and existing products Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems in a hands-on capacity Assist with product compliance and safety certifications (UL, CSA, IEC standards)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design and development
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) Experience with UL 891 switchboard design Familiarity with ECNs, BOM management, documentation systems, AutoCAD, and ERP platforms Experience using electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.) Knowledge of three-phase power systems and electrical distribution Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills Hands-on lab experience with strong troubleshooting abilities Familiarity with UL, CSA, and IEC safety and EMC standards Understanding of environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for industrial and commercial systems
