The Diesel/Heavy Truck Shop Technician at Jordan Ford is responsible for receiving repair orders from the dispatcher and performing work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in diesel and heavy truck systems.
You will receive repair orders from the dispatcher and take them to the stall area. You will perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing necessary repairs. You will communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts and save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
You will examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required, notifying the service advisor immediately if additional work is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised. Documenting work performed accurately is essential. You will road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keeping in mind that customer vehicles should not be used for personal errands.
You will supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned and attend factory-sponsored training classes. Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins ensures you stay current with the latest developments. You will ensure customers' cars are kept clean and keep the shop area neat and clean, accounting for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
You will understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes. You must follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.

Diesel and heavy truck repair experience is required. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills are essential. ASE Certification in diesel systems is highly preferred. Valid driver's license with clean record is necessary.
