Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Construction Manager to lead the full lifecycle of a mission-critical Data Center development in Santiago, Chile. This leader will play a critical role in protecting the client's global brand, mitigating risks, ensuring robust project controls, and delivering a high-performance facility that meets uptime and scalability expectations.
Role Overview: The Construction Manager will oversee all phases of construction, ensuring the successful delivery of a world-class data center aligned with global standards for safety, redundancy, quality, and operational excellence. This position involves managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing subcontractors, coordinating with engineering and commissioning partners, and ensuring full compliance with local regulations and corporate technical requirements.
Key Activities: You'll oversee day-to-day construction activities both on-site and off-site, ensuring full compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and ESG policies. Manage general contractors, specialist subcontractors including MEP, structural, envelope, and electrical systems, as well as design consultants. Review and approve technical documentation including IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, QA/QC plans, and commissioning scripts.
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute construction strategies, master schedules, logistics plans, and cost baselines tailored to mission-critical environments. Lead risk assessments, integrate safety by design, and ensure all construction phases meet global standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in data center construction.
Requirements: Proven experience in data center or mission-critical facility construction. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Knowledge of local Chilean building codes and regulations. Experience with international standards and corporate technical requirements.
