The Billing Clerk position at Lexus of Birmingham, part of Sonic Automotive, plays a critical administrative role in accurately recording sales transactions, profits, and commissions payable on all sold units. This position also maintains accurate accounting of vehicle inventories, ensuring financial integrity across dealership operations.
As Billing Clerk, you will bill all new and used car deals and post transactions into the accounting system. You will receipt all monies received for new and used car deals and dealer trades, ensuring accurate financial recording. Organizing all paperwork in each deal and checking for completeness including signatures and VIN verification is essential.
You will process payoff checks for trade-ins and mail them to appropriate financial institutions in a timely manner. Processing dealer trades in and out requires attention to detail and systematic documentation. Generating and maintaining salesperson commission reports and lists of commissions on-hold is a key responsibility.
Routing paid deals to the tag and title clerk for processing as soon as money is received in-house ensures smooth transaction flow. You will provide administrative support to management, other departments, and employees as needed. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor may include various clerical and administrative tasks. Following all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately reporting any accidents to a manager or supervisor is mandatory.
The ideal candidate will be computer literate with accurate 10-key pad and typing skills. You should be self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritize tasks and organize your schedule. A basic working knowledge of accounting is required, along with good interpersonal and oral communication skills. Mathematical aptitude is essential for accurate financial processing.
