The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects. Our clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. We are looking to hire a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineer to join our Ground Engineering & Tunnelling team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career engineer who is eager to develop their skills while contributing to technically challenging underground and large‑scale infrastructure projects You will support senior engineers in the design and analysis of underground structures such as tunnels, caverns, deep excavations, shafts and cut‑and‑cover structures, playing an important role in multidisciplinary project teams Key Responsibilities Design underground structures including tunnel and cavern linings, precast concrete tunnel linings (TBM), and cut‑and‑cover structures. Contribute to the design of SOE (Support of Excavation) systems for shafts, portals, stations, and deep excavations. Apply commercial structural analysis software (such as SAP2000 or similar) to support advanced structural designs. Develop, verify, and validate analytical, spreadsheet‑based, and manual design calculations. Prepare and support the development of design reports, technical specifications, drawing packages, and contract documents. Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, external partners and clients to support efficient and successful project delivery. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline. You bring 1 to 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in structural or geotechnical engineering, underground structures, or similar fields. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Solid understanding of structural analysis; knowledge of geotechnics is an advantage. Familiarity with structural analysis software (SAP2000, PLAXIS, MIDAS, or similar) is beneficial, although not mandatory. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment. Good communication skills and willingness to learn and grow within the team.
