Pensacola Honda, part of Sonic Automotive's extensive network, is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our service team. This role offers the opportunity to work with Honda vehicles while advancing your technical career in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
Receive repair orders from dispatchers and perform work with efficiency and accuracy according to dealership and factory standards. Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform necessary repairs. Communicate effectively with the parts department to obtain required components. Save and tag parts for warranty claims or when requested by customers.
Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Notify service advisors immediately if additional work is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within promised timeframes. Document all work performed thoroughly and accurately. Road-test vehicles when required, maintaining professional standards by not using customer vehicles for personal errands.
Supervise work of apprentice technicians assigned to you, providing guidance and technical support. Attend factory-sponsored training classes to maintain current knowledge. Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins to stay updated on the latest service procedures and recalls.
Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean throughout service. Maintain a neat, clean shop area and account for all dealership-owned tools at all times. Understand and follow all federal, state, and local regulations including those governing hazardous waste disposal and environmental compliance.
