Our Molecular Biology Team is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist I to spearhead plasmid production optimization and support mRNA construct development. This role offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge molecular biology techniques while contributing to AbbVie's therapeutic pipeline.
You will support plasmid production workflows and optimize E. coli growth for plasmid production. The role includes developing new cloning strategies, maximizing cloning efficiency, and assisting in the design and molecular cloning of DNA constructs for mRNA production. You will conduct laboratory experiments, analyze results, and participate in team meetings to communicate findings. Maintaining rigorous laboratory standards including meticulous documentation in electronic laboratory notebook systems and adherence to personal safety measures is essential.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline. You should demonstrate proficiency in molecular biology techniques related to cloning and plasmid production in E. coli. Strong communication and organizational skills with motivation to learn are key attributes for success in this role.
