Meet the Press with Kristen Welker is seeking a highly skilled Associate Producer to join our award-winning political news program. This role demands exceptional editorial judgment, deep expertise in politics and policy coverage, and versatile multimedia production capabilities across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
As an Associate Producer, you will collaborate with editors and graphic artists to produce compelling packages including the broadcast Open, edit tape elements, and develop engaging graphics. You will generate and pitch innovative show ideas, program guests, and create franchise segments that resonate with our audience. Your responsibilities include producing political panels, gathering sound, and assisting with interview elements and spots for the moderator.
This position requires shooting and editing stories for digital and social platforms while contributing elements for broadcast. You will edit show promos, early release clips, and other franchise content while identifying top news-making moments for NBC News affiliates. The role involves tracking competition, assisting with show archiving, and editing breakout clips for social platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and meetthepress.com. Additionally, you will contribute to the Meet the Press blog and conduct guest research while writing questions for the moderator.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 3 years of news production experience with strong tape, field, and editing capabilities. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. This position demands availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays as part of our regular broadcast schedule. Must be willing to work on-site in Washington, DC with unrestricted work authorization for the United States.
