We're looking for a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Director of Sales, Group & Events to join our organization in Istanbul, Türkiye. In this pivotal role, you will lead our group and events sales initiatives, driving revenue growth while building and nurturing strategic client relationships. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional experiences and exceed sales targets in this competitive market segment. Lead, mentor, and manage the group and events sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to maximize revenue from group bookings and event business Identify, pursue, and close high-value group and events opportunities through proactive business development Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and key decision-makers Coordinate with operations, marketing, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, prepare reports, and present insights to senior leadership Customize proposals and negotiate contracts to meet client needs while protecting organizational interests Support the Director of Sales & Marketing with strategic planning and market analysis to identify emerging opportunities Conduct market research to understand competitive positioning and industry trends in the group and events sector Oversee the onboarding and training of sales team members to ensure consistent service delivery and professional development
Minimum 5 years of sales experience in group sales, events, hospitality, or related industry Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing sales teams Strong negotiation and closing skills with demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and sales analytics tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages preferred Comprehensive knowledge of event planning, coordination, and execution processes Strong organizational and time management abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions Interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships across departments Familiarity with the Turkish market and hospitality industry is preferred Project management experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Customer-focused approach with commitment to delivering exceptional service and experiences
