Lute Riley Honda, part of Sonic Automotive's renowned network, is seeking an Apprentice Service Technician to join our service team. This entry-level position is perfect for recent graduates of automotive technician training schools looking to launch their career with comprehensive mentorship and training.
As an apprentice, you'll be assigned a Mentor - typically a Master Technician - who will assist you in acclimating to dealership operations while sharing technical knowledge. Your mentor will provide hands-on guidance and support as you develop your skills. You'll work alongside experienced technicians, learning best practices and building confidence in your abilities.
Perform work as outlined on repair orders, diagnosing causes of malfunctions and performing repairs under supervision. Call upon your Mentor, Team Leader, or Shop Foreman when you have questions or need assistance. Examine vehicles to determine if additional service work is recommended. Attend factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins to build your knowledge base.
At least 1-2 years of dealership apprentice technician experience is a plus. ASE Certification and/or trade school certification is preferred. Honda/Acura or multi-brand experience is valued. We seek candidates with strong work ethic who thrive in fast-paced environments, with ability to follow directions, willingness to learn, and ability to mentor teammates.
Valid driver's license and good driving record required. Must be authorized to work in the USA and pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, and drug test.
